RRWCD meeting October 11 in Wray
The Republican River Water Conservation District Board of Directors will holds its regular quarterly meeting in Wray, Thursday, October 11.
It will be held in the meeting room at Cobblestone Inn & Suites, 35952 Highway 385, beginning at 10 a.m.
A hearing for the proposed 2019 budget will be held during the meeting. The board will consider and might approve the budget and appropriations following the hearing.
Several director positions will be up for new terms at the meeting. Appointments will be made for the seats representing Lincoln, Sedgwick and Washington counties, and the Central Yuma, Plains and W-Y ground water management districts. The election of board officers will be held, led by Steve Meakins, who is the chairman of the nominating committee.
The board will consider and potentially approve a policy regarding fees for non-groundwater irrigation water uses. The board also will consider a resolution to hold a special board meeting in Denver.
Reports will be given by the State Engineer’s Office and Attorney General’s Office on negotiations with Kansas regarding the Compact Compliance Pipeline and Bonny arbitrations. Some portion of those reports might be held in executive session if negotiation and litigation strategy is involved.
