Lois Elaine Spelts born September 1, 1960 at the Wray Community District Hospital the first child of proud parents, Gracie Allen (Sanderson) and John Clifton Newton and two and a half years later she became the big sister to Steven John.

Lois attended the Wray Elementary and High Schools with her younger brother and cousins, Charlotte and Sheila. At seventeen, while working at Big Red’s Café’, now known as the Wray Café her mom became ill and passed away. Her dad moved the family to Eckley, Colorado for a fresh start.

At eighteen, she gave birth to her first child, Thomas John, she soon met the love of her life, Chuck Joe Spelts. They were married by the justice of the peace February 21, 1979 in Wray and to this union was born Jessica Lynn, another daughter, Christina Allen would follow in 1982 and a son, Chester Joesph Tiny would complete their family in 1986.

Lois was a stay at home mom until her two oldest were old enough to care for the two youngest then she worked at what is now Ace in Yuma for a few years.

Lois loved to visit with people, crochet, create with plastic canvas and later on play on Facebook, she always loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lois experienced poor health having to wear oxygen and was limited and began selling Scentsy products. After the loss of her husband and loving brother just a few months apart her health went into a fast decline.

Lois went to sleep with the angels at the Wray Community District Hospital October 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

Lois is survived by her children, Thomas, Jessica (Chris); Christina (Dustin) and Chester; grandchildren, Johnathan Paul, Jesse James, Kristopher Kenneth, Taylor Marie, Seth Bradford, Gracie Allen, and Callie Rose; sister, Glenda Warren; sister-in-law, Alisa Newton; nieces, Miranda (John) and family; Anna, Alexis and Abbigail; and cousins, Charlotte, Sheila and Chrissie and numerous others.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Chuck Spelts; blessed brother, Steve Newton; granddaughter, Kianna; grandparents; aunts and uncles; In-Laws, Spike and Ollie Spelts; cousins, Wesley, AnnaMay, Bryan and Christopher; son-in-law, Slade Thompson and numerous others.

Inurnment will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 @ 10:00 a.m. in the Eckley Cemetery in Eckley, Colorado, followed by a Memorial Service @ 11:00 a.m. at the Eckley Community Center in Eckley, Colorado with Pastor Don Smith officiating.
