The Yuma High School wrestling team improved to 6-1 in duals this season with a 54-24 win at Akron, Thursday night.

The dual began at 126 pounds, with Braden Smith getting a win by pin over Traxler. Louden Blach lost by pin to Dorrenbacher at 132. Gianni Trejo won by pin over Guy at 138. Xavier Smith was pinned by Traxler at 145. Edgar Apodaca was pinned by Reese at 160. Manny Tena was pinned by Reese at 170. Cayden Lynch closed the dual on a winning note for Yuma with a pin of Pieper at 195. The rest of Yuma’s points came courtesy of forfeits.

Yuma’s grapplers will be back in action Saturday at the Lyons Invitational.
