The Otis High School boys basketball team was looking to run its winning streak to seven when it played at Weldon Valley this past Tuesday.
The Bulldogs host Prairie on Friday before getting a week’s break. They were 8-2 overall and up to No. 6 in the 1A CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index entering this week.
Otis hosted Briggsdale last Friday, cruising to a 69-36 win after scoring 49 points in the first half, including a 26-0 second quarter.
Charlie Kendrick has 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Mitchell Stivers 10 points, five assists and six steals, Austin Hornung 10 points and three steals, Grady Bechtle 10 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Dalton DeMers 10 points, Jacob Perry five points and five rebounds, Gracen Bechtle four points, four rebounds and four assists, and Gavin Price four points and four rebounds.
ARICKAREE BOYS
The Arickaree boys basketball team took a 7-4 record into this past Tuesday’s home game against Lone Star.
The Bison are at Byers on Thursday, January 30, and at Idalia on Friday before getting a week off. They entered the week No. 22 in the 1A CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index.
Arickaree split two games last weekend, first beating Bethune 56-19 last Friday at home. Austin Wright had 23 points and seven rebounds, Dillon Noletubby 11 points and four rebounds, Zarron Skubal eight points and seven rebounds, Jake King six points, five rebounds and 11 assists, Logan Brundage three points and Oliver Hambleton two points.
The Bison lost an exciting game at Denver Waldorf on Saturday, 51-48. Skubal had 16 points and five rebounds, Noletubby 15 points, five rebounds and four steals, Wright nine pints, six rebounds and six assists, Jorge Ramos eight points and seven rebounds, and King eight rebounds.

They host Prairie on Friday before getting a week off.
They lost last Friday at home to No. 5 Briggsdale 49-35. Aedyn Tribelhorn had 13 points, six rebounds and four steals, Madelyn Willeke 10 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Madison Reynolds six points, four rebounds and three assists, Layce Perry four points and two rebounds, and Lydia Willeke two points and five assists.
LONE STAR GIRLS
The Lone Star girls basketball team was 6-5 heading into this past Tuesday’s game at Arickaree.
The Longhorns have the weekend off before hosting Caliche on Monday. They entered this week No. 23 in the 1A CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index.
Lone Star hosted Idalia last Thursday, losing 50-33. Peytyn Kuntz had 10 points and nine rebounds, Paityn Forry nine points and four rebounds, Jade Kuntz six ints, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Aimee Trejo four points and four rebounds, Katie Etl two points, Bryn Cook two points and two rebounds, and Grace Cochran seven rebounds.
The Longhorns hosted Weldon Valley on Friday, winning 53-45. J. Kuntz had 20 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and nine steals, Trejo 13 points and six rebounds, Forry seven points and five steals, Cook seven points and two rebounds, P. Kuntz four points, six rebounds and four steals, Emely Trejo two points, and Etl three rebounds.

Ja’Niya Smith had 16 points and six rebounds, Raeya Schrock seven points and 11 rebounds, Janice Kalcevic five points and three rebounds, Gabby Hermes three points, Paytin Villarreal two points and six rebounds, Clara Hermes two points and three rebounds, Gracie Monat one points and four rebounds, and Lizbeth Ramos four rebounds.
The Bison won 56-21 at Denver Waldorf on Saturday. Schrock had 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, Smith 15 points and five rebounds, Villareal six points and eight rebounds, Kalcevic six points, Monat five points and two rebounds, C. Hermes four points and four rebounds, Ramos two points and six rebounds, and G. Hermes two points and two rebounds.

Lone Star won 46-40 at Weldon Valley on Friday. Kuntz had 16 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals, Hermosillo 11 points and 11 rebounds, J. Glenn eight points, Weathers six points and four rebounds, Pastor three points and six rebounds, and O. Glenn two points and nine rebounds.
