Lone Star’s girls basketball team is 3-2 heading into the final game in December, when the Longhorns play Hi-Plains on Friday.
They are ranked No. 8 in Class 1A, with losses over the past week to No. 2 Briggsdale and No. 4 Merino.
They played Briggsdale in the Prairie Classic, last Friday, losing 61-34 as they were outscored in each quarter. Lone Star statistics were not available.
The Longhorns played Prairie on Saturday in the third-place game, claiming a 51-26 win. They trailed 9-7 after the first quarter, then dominated from there. Lone Star statistics were not available.
Lone Star hosted Merino this past Tuesday, keeping close through the first three quarters before the Rams pulled away down the stretch for the win. Statistics were not available at press time.

Arickaree/Woodlin will close out December with more tournament action this weekend.
The Indian Mustangs play Fleming on Friday in the first round. They also played Deer Trail this past Tuesday.
They reached the championship of the Prairie Classic last weekend, first winning an exciting 44-40 overtime game against Prairie, last Friday.
Joslyn King had 19 points, 10 rebounds and nine steals, Tori Arfsten eight points and nine rebounds, Wynter Van Ness eight points, two rebounds and two assists, Lilly Monat seven points and 10 rebounds, McKenna Jess four points and two points, Gracie Monat two points and six rebounds, and Julisa Quinteros seven rebounds.
The Indian Mustangs took on second-ranked Briggsdale in the championship game, Saturday, losing 58-23. L Monat had eight points and nine rebounds, King seven points and two rebounds, Arfsten four points and five rebounds, Van Ness two points and two rebounds, Janice Kalcevic two points, Quinteros five rebounds, and Raeya Schrock two assists.
Otis girls
The Otis girls basketball team will close out December by competing in the Akron Tournament, Thursday and Friday.
The Bulldogs open tourney play against Akron, Thursday afternoon.
Otis played at fourth-ranked Merino last Friday, losing 47-20. Statistics were not available.

Lone Star’s boys basketball team will be looking for its first win when it closes out December by hosting Hi-Plains on Friday .

The Arickaree/Woodlin boys basketball team is looking to finish December with a winning record as it plays in another tournament this weekend.

Otis High School’s boys basketball team is competing in the Akron Tournament, Thursday and Friday, before taking a holiday break.
The Bulldogs are 2-2 after splitting last week’s games.
They hosted Weldon Valley last Thursday, claiming a 57-31 win. Otis jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Jack Willeke had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Charlie Kendrick 15 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Sawyer Packer eight points and eight rebounds, Taylor Ringlein four points and three rebounds, Kaleb Jones four points, four rebounds, and three steals, Jacob Perry four points and two rebounds, and JJ Ward two points.
