The Lone Star girls basketball team added two more YWKC League wins this week, and now are off until February 4.
The Longhorns hosted neighboring Otis this past Tuesday, cruising to a 59-19 win, then knocked off Arickaree/Woodlin at home Thursday, 61-38.
They are 9-3 overall and 4-0 in league play. They are No. 9 in the Class 1A Rating Percentage Index, and No. 8 in the 1A Top 10.
Lone Star cruised to a 56-19 win at Weldon Valley, earlier last week. The Longhorns led 30-8 by halftime. Alivia Weathers had 19 points and three steals, Alison Davis 12 points and seven rebounds, Lamya Kuntz nine points and three assists, Amanda Kubitz seven points and three rebounds, Hailey Forry five points and two rebounds, Aleighcea Kuntz two points and two steals, and Ana Lockard two points and two rebounds.
Otis girls
Otis High School’s girls basketball team entered is 2-10 overall and 1-2 in the YWKC League.
The Bulldogs were at Class 1A No. 8 Lone Star this past Tuesday, losing 59-19, and host No. 1 Briggsdale on Friday in a non-league game.
They played at a tough Haxtun squad last Saturday, losing 48-28, after trailing 35-8 at halftime. Otis stats were not available.

The Arickaree/Woodlin girls basketball team is 7-6 overall and 2-1 in YWKC League following a 61-38 loss at Class 1A No. 8 Lone Star, Thursday night.
The Indian Mustangs also have a league home game against a strong Idalia team on Friday. The Wolves are 8-5 and ranked No. 10 in 1A.
A/W played at Bethune last Friday, cruising to a 48-18 league win.
Wynter Van Ness had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists, Lilly Monat eight points and five rebounds, Tori Arfsten seven points and six rebounds, Joslyn King six points, nine assists and four steals, Raeya Schrock four points and three rebounds, Cora Schrock four points and eight rebounds, Julisa Quinteros four points and four rebounds, and Gracie Monat four points.
Lone Star boys
Lone Star’s boys basketball team was looking to add to its win streak when it hosted Otis this past Tuesday.
However, they came up just short in a 35-32 loss to the Bulldogs.
However, they rebounded with a 52-38 win over Arickaree/Woodlin on Thursday. They are 4-9 overall, 2-2 in the YWKC League, having won three of their past four.
They claimed a 59-32 win at Weldon Valley earlier last week. Abraham Martinez had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Wyatt Cochran 13 points and six rebounds, Grant Kuntz 13 points and 10 rebounds, Dakoda Cox six points and 10 assists, Ethan Glenn two points and six rebounds, and Owen Glenn three rebounds.
Lone Star hosted Peetz in another non-league game last Friday, pulling out a 35-31 win. Martinez had 18 points, Cox five points, six rebounds and three assists, Cochran five points, six rebounds, and four steals, G. Kuntz five points and six rebounds, E. Glenn two points, and O. Glenn one rebound.
Otis boys
Otis boys basketball team is 6-5 overall, 2-1 in the YWKC League, after a 35-32 win at Lone Star, this past Tuesday.
The Bulldogs now host a tough Briggsdale squad on Friday in a non-league game.
They suffered a 74-47 non-league loss at Haxtun last Saturday. They held a 14-13 advantage in the second quarter, but were outscored in the other three. Otis stats were not available.

It appears they also are supposed to play Idalia on Friday.
The Indian Mustangs picked up a 79-54 league win at Bethune, last Friday. They salted away the game in the second quarter with a 26-7 scoring onslaught. A/W stats were not available.
