6-man football report

Arickaree/Woodlin’s football team enters the final two weeks of the regular season with a chance at claiming a 6-man playoff berth.
The Indian Mustangs, 4-3, host Peetz, 3-5 on Friday, with a win securing a winning record no matter what happens the following week at highly-ranked Idalia. They enter this week ranked No. 7 in the 6-Man Rating Percentage Index on spot behind Idalia.
They took on undefeated Sierra Grande last Saturday, dropping a 42-26 decision to the Panthers at Arickaree.
The visitors jumped out to a 22-0 lead, but the Indian Mustangs cut it to 22-14 by halftime. However, Sierra Grande scored 12 unanswered points in the third quarter to help secure the win.
Offense was tough to come by as A/W had 240 total yards. Samuel Koolstra ran 123 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries, and Logan Wright had 68 yards and one TD on 18 attempts. Wright completed three of seven passes for 37 yards and a TD, and Nic Hermes one completion for an 11-yard TD. Bryce Shaffer had two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown, Jacob Jefferson one for 20 yards, Wright one for 12 yards, and Koolstra one for five yards and a TD.
Wright was in on 13 tackles, Estevan Ramirez 10, Koolstra nine, Hermes nine, Hayden Page six, Jefferson five, Shaffer two, and Jake King one.

OTIS FOOTBALL
The Otis High School football team will be looking to claw its way back toward .500 when the Bulldogs host winless Pawnee, Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs dropped to 3-5 overall, and finished 0-4 in league play, after a 58-7 loss to Hi-Plains, last Friday in Seibert. The loss came after scoring 82 points in a win over Kit Carson the previous week.
Otis’ lone touchdown, courtesy of Tayte Smith on a run, came in the second quarter. However, Hi-Plains led 30-7 by halftime, and tacked on 28 more in the second half.
Otis had 260 total yards, including 149 through the air. Erick Thorn completed four of eight passes for 70 yards, Jack Willeke two of five for 42 yards, and Smith one for six for 37 yards. Sawyer Packer had three catches for 68 yards, Willeke one for 25, Smith one for 24, Thorn one for 18, and Taylor Ringlein one for 14. Smith ran for 96 yards on 19 carries, Thorn 11 yards on seven attempts, and Packer two carries for four yards.
Defensively, Willeke was in on five tackles, Bohden Klinzmann five, Thorn five, Ringlein four, Smith four, Domink Pacheco two, and Jacob Perry, Mason Metzler, and Garrett Patterson one each.
