Mildred Wyona (Toots) Churchill was born on December 5th,1921 to Robert and Pearl Rogers in Yuma County. She passed away on December 23rd at the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron. She was 98 years young.
Toots was married to Vern Churchill on September 27, 1942. To this union, two children were born, Jimmie Clayton and Emma May.
Toots was a very amazing and hardworking woman. Along with raising her children and the household chores, she spent numerous hours on the tractor and trucks tending to the crops. She also kept busy with the animals – cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, peacocks, guineas and very spoiled dogs, cats, and birds. She made time to enjoy a garden and flowers (and turtles in the back yard) and she always had time for family and friends. Toots touched many lives with her kindness. She was a very strong, generous, patient, and loving person. Not to be overlooked that she also spoke her mind and got her point across.
Toots is preceded in death by her father- Robert Rogers; her mother- Pearl Rogers; her brother and sister-in law- L G and Esther Rogers; son- Jim Churchill; aninfant brother and infant sister; great-grandson Jeremy Neuschwanger; and an infant great-granddaughter.
