Lone Star’s track and field teams competed in the Tom Meyer Invitational in Akron, last Friday.
Final team points were not available, but the Lone Star girls enjoyed a strong day under nice conditions.
Pole vault was a big point-getter for the Longhorns as Andrea Kuntz cleared 9-foot-2 for first place, and Lamya Kuntz and Alivia Weathers both 8-8 to tie for second. More points came in the field events as Amanda Kubitz placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 28-6.75. Idhaly Martinez was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 12-10. Alison Davis put the shot 26-2.75 to place eighth.
L. Kuntz placed second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6 minutes, 32.13 seconds. Weathers was second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.13 seconds, Leah Kubitz fifth in 20.58, and A. Kubitz sixth in 20.63. 
The 800 sprint medley team placed second with a time of 2:04.3. The 4-by-100 foursome of A. Kuntz, A. Kubitz, L. Kuntz and Weathers was second in 56.77 seconds.
A pair of first-place efforts paced the Lone Star boys
Ethan Glenn won the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:00.6. Brady Kuntz won the pole vault with a height of 12-2.
The 4-by-100 foursome of Abraham Martinez, Wyatt Cochran, Mahiro Yamamoto and Dakoda Cox placed eighth in 52.72 seconds.
ARICKAREE/WOODLIN
The Arickaree/Woodlin track and field teams rolled up some points at the Tom Meyer Invitational in Akron, last Friday.
Team points were not available, but the A/W boys enjoyed some strong efforts.
Jacob Jefferson won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.21 seconds, and Hayden Page was second in 54.89. Jefferson also was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.58 seconds. 
The 4-by-400 relay team of Page, Dehvin Tucker, Landry Peeples and Jefferson placed fifth in 4:01.37.
All of the A/W girls’ points came in the relays. The 4-by-200 foursome of Tori Arfsten, Mia Mosso, Emma Peeples and Julisa Quinteros placed third with a time of 2:18.52, while the 800 sprint medley team placed sixth in 2:22.27.
OTIS
The Otis High School track and field teams enjoyed a perfect Friday competing in the Tom Meyer Invitational, May 14 in Akron.
Final team points were not available.
Individually for the girls, Anthoneya Schaffert cleared 7-foot-8 to place sixth in the pole vault.
The 4-by-100 relay team of Alli Hornung, Hailey Stivers, Rowan Tribelhorn, Schaffert placed fourth in 59.93 seconds. The same foursome was fourth in the 800 sprint medley in 2:14.44.
On the boys side, Maddox Hisam cleared 5-8 for second in the high jump. Tyler Johnson long jumped 18-2.5 for fourth place. Peyton Wells whipped the discus 103-6 for sixth, and put the shot 38-0.5 for sixth. Jack Willeke ran the 400 dash in 58.88 seconds to place eighth.
The 4-by-200 relay team of Bohden Klinzmann, Willeke, Taylor Ringlein and Sawyer Packer placed fourth with a time of 1:47.52.
STRATTON/LIBERTY
The Stratton/Liberty track and field teams competed in two meets late last week.
The first was the Burlington Twilight Invitational, where the Knighted Eagles’ girls racked up the points, scoring 41 to place ninth in the team standings.
Keirstyn Louthan took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 46.28 seconds, and third in the 1600 in 6:21.06. Kali Fox was sixth in the 400 in 1:14.08, and Kennedy Frank was seventh in 1:18.93.
Frank was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 30-foot-4, and McKenna Notter seventh at 29-10.5. Emma Bohnen took eighth in the discus with a distance of 72-7.
In the relays, the 4-by-200 team took fifth in 2:05.66, and the 4-by-100 foursome was sixth in 59.81 seconds.
For the boys, Alex Cruz triple jumped 37-1.5 for fifth, and long jumped 18-2 for sixth. Dalton Armour whipped the discus 89-3 for seventh. The boys finished 13th with nine team points.
The Knighted Eagles were at the Terry Admundson Invitational in Byers the next day, but with limited participation.
The girls 4-by-200 relay team was third in 2:16.31, the 4-by-100 foursome was sixth in 1:00.48 and the 800 sprint medley team took seventh in 2:11.8. The girls finished 13th in the team standings with 11 points. The boys team did not place anyone in the top eight of any event.
