The driver in a rollover accident on Highway 34 at the overpass west of Yuma apparently avoided serious injury, last Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m., June 26. A 2015 Toyota Tacoma driven by Betty Nelson, 70, of Fort Morgan, was pulling a camping trailer westbound on Highway 34. According to the Colorado State Patrol report, the trailer became uncontrolled behind the pickup and began to rotate counter-clockwise.
As the pickup and trailer were rotating out of control, they impacted the guard rail and continued overturning down an embankment to their final rest.
The pickup became disconnected from the trailer and continued off road, overturning until it came to a rest on its passenger side.
Nelson was transported to Yuma District Hospital for evaluation.
