On March 10, 2024, the world, her community, and her family lost a beautiful, loving person when Pamela Jean Nicklas (Allard) became an angel in God’s Heaven. Pam was born on November 15, 1946 to Raymond and Opal Allard in Harmony, Colorado. She was blessed to have four sisters and a brother to spend time with, although they were much older than she was, they made time for their baby sister. Pam was very close to her mother and father and learned a great love of family and work ethic from them.
Pam grew up in the Loveland area where she met Richard Nicklas, fell in love and married on May 11, 1963. She followed him to Pensacola, Florida, where they lived the Navy life for a bit. In February 1964, they had a daughter, Rhonda. Richard later discharged from the Navy in 1965 and moved back to Colorado, beginning their Colorado adventure in the Willard and Merino area. Pam was very naive to the country life, but she never shied away from learning new things, such as cattle, gardening, chickens and anything else her family could throw at her.
In December 1966, she and Richard welcomed a baby boy to their clan, Richard Jr (Richie). The family found their way to the Akron area in 1967 where they worked a 4,000 acre ranch with 200 head of cattle. Here, Pam learned a great deal and enjoyed working and raising the cattle, and later helping Richard with the Nicklas Truck Line. Here, she also learned how and enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, going camping, raising their children, and all kinds of animals. In 1980, Richard, Pam and family sold the ranch and moved closer to town. Pam then took a job working as a bookkeeper for Davis Brothers, later as a waitress in the local restaurants, and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a hard worker and loved to work.
In 1988, Richard and Pam divorced, with Pam becoming a resident of Otis, Colorado. Pam loved to fish, causing us to chase after beaver ponds and fishing holes when we were younger. She also loved to read and educate herself on many different subjects. She also loved to garden and work in her yard until she fell ill. Pam left the workforce around 2006, but that didn’t mean that she was not busy. She had five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren to keep track of, with her being an intricate part of all of their lives. Those babies meant the world to her and they all were touched by her presence. Pam was an avid animal lover as well, so she had special animals that people would request her to care for in their absence. Whenever an animal was needing care and love, Pam was called upon to take care of them. Pam will be missed by her family and all the community members that had the opportunity to know her.
She has left behind her daughter Rhonda and son in law Carl Belcher, Cathi and Chris Weber, granddaughters, Danielle Davy, Jayci Taylor, Chandi Weber, grandson Coleton Nicklas, great grandchildren. Laden, Keyandra (Sampson), Trey, Morgan (Gebauer), Capri (Davy), Chaypin, Liberty, (Nicklas-Weber), Bennett, Scarlett (Taylor), Leland, Cashton, Cayson (Nicklas), her sister in law, Pauline Allard and many nieces and nephews.
Pam is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, all of her siblings, her son, Richie, and her granddaughter, Shannon. She will be truly missed by all of us left behind, and her memories will be shared many times over. We love you always.
A private memorial will be conducted in the spring when the flowers begin to bloom but nothing at this time is planned.
