As usual, boys golf will be the first Yuma High School fall sports team to begin its season.
Practices will begin on Monday, August 5, and the qualifying round for the varsity foursome for the first tournament will be August 9. Benjamin Weathers returns for another season as head coach.
The Outlaws will have some time on the course after the Yuma County Fair before its first tournament. They open Monday, August 12, by hosting the Yuma Invitational at Indian Hills Golf Course. That also will be the site for a JV tournament on September 16.
YHS golfers will have some three tournaments along the Front Range — at Windsor, Eaton and Greeley — but otherwise will be playing in eastern Colorado.
