Yuma-1 Board kicking off Super Search

The Yuma School District-1 Board of Education is seeking community input as it begins the search for a new superintendent.

The board is working with McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, Executive Recruitment and Development, to assist in selecting candidates for the board to interview.

A community meeting will be held Monday, September 30, at 12 p.m. in the Yuma High School Auditorium, to gather input regarding the qualities of the next superintendent. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to provide input.

There also is an online survey available through the district’s web page and its Facebook page. It contains the same questions that will be covered during Monday’s community meeting. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes. The deadline to participate in the survey is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1.

All survey responses will be kept confidential, and will be used soley to inform the superintendent search process.

The purpose is to “gather community input on the qualities and qualifications desired in our next superintendent.” The feedback will play a key role in helping the board understand what qualities are most important to the community, and ensuring a candidate is selected who aligns with the values and goals for the district.
