Linda Huyghebaert 1948-2025

Linda Janet Elaine (Goeglein) Huyghebaert was born on December 16, 1948 in Yuma, Colorado to Carl W. and Gladys Goeglein. She and her family grew up on the family farm north of Yuma. She attended Yuma High School and graduated in 1967. Linda attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where she met her husband Hiram. They were blessed with a son, Robert Haynes.

Linda started her career at the Colorado Motor Vehicles Department where she worked from 1968-2000. She retired as the Program Administrator of Vehicle Registration and Titles. Linda married Jim Huyghebaert in 1992. Robert and Linda loved to scuba dive. Jim and Linda traveled with friends and family and attended Denver Bronco home games. One of their favorite places to travel was San Padre Island in Texas.

After retirement, Linda continued to spend her time working for the Arapahoe Sherrifs Department and even did “ride alongs”. Linda volunteered with the Colorado Voter Registration Department. She was active in the Geoglein family geneology and was the “keeper” of family records and documents.

Linda’s home was always open to friends and family. She was very fond of her cats and made sure that they were well taken care of. Linda was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Parker, Colorado.

Linda was preceded in death by her Husband Jim Huyghebaert and son Robert Haynes. Her parents, Carl W. and Gladys Geoglein, her siblings and family: Carl E. Goeglein, Melva Lee (Pletcher) Goeglein, Betty (Goeglein) Mills, Kenneth Goeglein, Elmer Miller and Kristi (Goeglein) Appelhans.

Linda is survived by her family: Mildred (Geoglein) Miller, Dorothy (Geoglein) Cook, Gene Cook, Marilyn Goeglein, Diana Miller and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Linda will be remembered for her ready smile, her kind heart, her strong ideals, and her love of friends and family. She is missed by all her who knew her.
