Arickaree’s boys basketball team resumed its season last weekend by splitting a pair of games.

The Bison, 5-2, were at Peetz on Wednesday of this week, and hosts Hi-Plains on Friday. They are No. 13 in the 1A CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index.

They endured a 37-35 home loss to Prairie last Friday. They held an 18-15 lead at halftime but eventually lost the lead in the fourth.

Jorge Ramos had nine points and five rebounds, Austin Wright seven points, four rebounds and four steals, Jake King five points and six rebounds, Logan Brundage five points and three rebounds, Dillon Noletubby four points, four assists and three steals, Zarron Skubal three points and four rebounds, and Bradley Hermes two points, six rebounds and three assists.

Arickaree hosted Flagler on Saturday, cruising to a 59-30 win. The Bison really blew it open in the third with a 25-8 advantage. Wright had 16 points and eight rebounds, King 16 points and five steals, Ramos seven points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals, Skubal five points and five rebounds, Noletubby five points and four rebounds, Brundage four points, Hermes four points and three rebounds, and Daniel Goff two points and four rebounds.

LONE STAR BOYS

Lone Star’s boys basketball team returned from the break last weekend with a pair of wins.

The Longhorns, 3-3, host Briggsdale on Friday before traveling to Front Range Baptist on Saturday.

Their first game in 2025 was a 38-31 win at Hi-Plains last Friday. Grant Kuntz had 18 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and four assists, Jack Glenn six points, Jesus Hermosillo six points and 10 rebounds, Anderson Weathers four points and 11 rebounds, Jayden Sporing two points and four rebounds, Ian Pastor two points and six steals, and Owen Glenn four rebounds.

The Longhorns hosted Deer Trail on Saturday. They scored 26 points in the first quarter on their way to a 61-19 win. Weathers had 16 points and four rebounds, Hermosillo 15 points and four rebounds, Kuntz 10 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and six assists, Sporing four points and eight rebounds, Trevor Schoepner four points and two rebounds, Jayden Smith two points, James Smith two points, Riley Sherwood two points, O. Glenn two points, four rebounds and three steals, Jack Glenn two points, Pastor four steals, and Aden Glenn four rebounds.

OTIS BOYS

The Otis boys basketball team entered this week No. 11 in the 1A CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index.

The Bulldogs hosted Haxtun this past Tuesday, are at Idalia Friday and host Cheyenne Wells on Saturday.

Their first game of 2025 was a 67-37 home win over Bethune, last Friday. Otis led 48-13 by halftime. Charlie Kendrick had 25 points and four rebounds, Austin Hornung nine points, Grady Bechtle eight points, four assists and three steals, Dalton DeMers six points, Cambric Klinzmann six points, Mitchell Stivers five points, five assists and three rebounds, Gracen Bechtle three points and three rebounds, and Gavin Price two points and four rebounds.

Otis traveled to Fleming on Saturday, returning home with a 72-31 win. Kendrick had 26 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Hornung 13 points, Price 10 points and four rebounds, Klinzmann six points and eight rebounds, Stivers five points and three assists, Grady Bechtle five points, six rebounds and three assists, Milo Kendrick three points, Gracen Bechtle two points and four assists, and Jacob Perry two points and six rebounds.

LONE STAR GIRLS

The Lone Star girls basketball team is 5-3 and No. 17 in the 1A CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index after splitting their first two games in the new year last weekend.

The Longhorns host Briggsdale on Friday, then travel to Front Range Baptist on Saturday.

They resumed their season last Friday with a 59-34 loss at Hi-Plains. Lone Star statistics were not available.

Lone Star rebounded with a 55-23 home win over Deer Trail on Saturday. The Longhorns had 32 points by halftime. Statistics were not available.

OTIS GIRLS

The Otis High School girls basketball team hosted Haxtun this past Tuesday, is at Idalia on Friday and hosts Cheyenne Wells on Saturday.

Otis beat Bethune 54-23 last Friday in Otis. Aedyn Tribelhorn had 19 points, nine steals, six rebounds and five assists, Madelyn Willeke 16 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals, Lydia Willeke six points, four rebounds and three assists, Layce Perry five points and eight steals, Madison Reynolds five points, four rebounds and three assists, and Kensley Packer three points and two rebounds.

The Bulldogs played at Fleming on Saturday, losing 65-36. They fell behind early and never recovered. M. Willeke had 16 points and nine rebounds, Tribelhorn nine points, seven rebounds and six assists, L. Willeke five points and three assists, Packer two points and two rebounds, Perry two points and three rebounds, and Reynolds two points.

ARICKAREE GIRLS

Arickaree’s girls basketball team is 2-5 after dropping its first two games in 2025.

The Bison were at Peetz on Wednesday of this week, and host Hi-Plains on Friday.

They returned from the holiday break last Friday with a 59-33 home loss to Prairie. Raeya Schrock had 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, Ja’Niya Smith 10 points and three steals, Gabby Hermes six points and two rebounds, Clara Hermes two points and two rebounds, and Gracie Monat one point and three rebounds.

Arickaree hosted Flagler on Saturday, losing 39-24, getting outscored by 10 in the fourth quarter. Smith had 11 points, six rebounds and four steals, Monat five points and three steals, Paytin Villarreal three points, three rebounds and three steals, Schrock three points, three rebounds and three assists, Janice Kalcevic two points and two rebounds, and Hermes four rebounds.
