1A track and field

Area Class 1A schools competed in the University Bulldog Invitational in Greeley last Saturday.

Otis

The Otis boys tied for 15th with Yuma with 18 points. The girls finished in 17th with 12 points. There were more than 25 schools at the meet.

Gracen Bechtle led the way by winning the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 24.1 seconds. Jayce Ballah cleared 12-foot-2 for second in the pole vault.

Madelyn Willeke was third in the pole vault at 8-8. Kensley Packer long jumped 15-2 for fifth, and Raya Routh-Grimes put the shot 25-1.5 for seventh.

Lone Star

Lone Star’s boys finished ninth in the big field with 23 points. The girls finished 14th with 17 points.

Anderson Weathers accounted for the boys points. He won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.64 seconds. He cleared 12-8 to win the pole vault. He added on more points by placing sixth in the 300 hurdles in 44.2 seconds.

Most of the girls points came in the pole vault. Jade Kuntz was fourth at 8-8, Katie Etl fifth at 8-2, Bryn Cook seventh at 8-2, and Peytyn Kuntz eighth at 8-2. P. Kuntz was fifth in the 100 hurdles in 18.43 seconds, and also cleared 4-3 for seventh in the high jump.
