Gary Leland Pletcher 1942-2024

Gary Leland Pletcher was born on August 12, 1942 in Yuma, Colorado to Millard and Thelma Pletcher. Gary passed away on April 9, 2025 at the age of 82 in Greeley, Colorado.

Gary married Donna Hansen in Yuma, Colorado on January 1, 1967. To this Union there were two children born Patrick and Stephanie.

Gary attended Northeastern Junior College and then went on to attend UNC in Greeley, Colorado. Gary served in the United States Marine Corps from October 1966 to October 1968 serving a tour in the Vietnam War.

Gary was a devoted sports fan but there wasn’t anything that was as important to him as his beloved Marines. Gary was the most dedicated family man. He was always supportive, loving, kind hearted and encouraging. He never failed to be there and do anything for his family.

In Gary’s employment he had many different jobs but he worked for the City of Greeley for over 30 years as the construction inspector in the engineering department. Prior to working for the City of Greeley he was employed at Empire Laboratories in Fort Collins. He also worked for the Colorado Highway Department. While he lived in Yuma he owned and operated Yuma Home Improvement with his wife Donna. Gary also had his hand in on building Denver International Airport. Gary also was a part of the ground breaking on Coors field which is still being used by The Colorado Rockies today.

Gary is survived by his wife Donna, Son Patrick, and daughter Stephanie. Brother Paul and Wife Sharri, Sister Sharon and Her husband Larry Hilbert. Sister Jeanne Pletcher. Grandchildren Arianna and Sylas Harmon. As well as many nieces and nephews.

Gary is proceeded in death by his parents Millard and Thelma Pletcher.

Graveside service – Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, Colorado at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Michael Fitzsimmons of the First Presbyterian Church in Yuma, Colorado officiated the service and Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
