Local high school fall sports teams are getting their seasons going this week.
The Lone Star volleyball team hosted Wray this past Tuesday in its season opener, and stays busy with a match at Caliche today, August 26, followed by a trip to McClave on Saturday.
Otis volleyball opens Friday at Weldon Valley, then is at the NJC Tournament on Saturday before hosting Wray on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are ranked in the Top 10 in Class 1A. The football team also is at Weldon Valley on Friday.
Arickaree/Woodlin’s volleyball team opened this past Tuesday against Genoa-Hugo, and hosts Hi-Plains today, August 26, at Arickaree. The football team has a challenging opener at defending 6-man champion Fleming on Friday.
Liberty’s boys golf team already had gotten in several tournaments (see article elsewhere on this page).
