Betty Lassen, 84, of The Harmony Home in Yuma, Colorado died Monday, December 16, 2024, at Yuma District Hospital of pneumonia.
A graveside service and interment will be held at a later date in Yuma Cemetery.
Betty Lassen was born April 8, 1940, in Haigler Nebraska, to John and Ruth Walter (Mohler). She grew up on a farm and attended school at Haigler. She attended McCook Community College until she met George Lassen, and they were married on December 20, 1958. They took over the family farm northeast of Yuma, Colorado where they raised four children, Robyn, June, Tammy and Dale.
Betty was a housewife and a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening, having house plants and canning. For a time, Betty owned and operated an H&R Block Income Tax business and G&B Bookstore in Yuma, Colorado. George and Betty sold the family farm and moved into Yuma, Colorado where they enjoyed traveling to toy auctions.
After George died, in 2008, Betty would visit her daughter, Tammy, in Columbus, Nebraska off and on and in October 2008 she moved to Columbus, Nebraska and lived there until 2016. She moved back to Yuma, Colorado and lived at The Harmony Home where she enjoyed reading, the community and doing puzzles.
Betty was a devout Christian and was active in every church that she was a member of.

Daughter Robyn (Terry) Briscoe of Drake, Colorado. Daughter June (Kevin) Wilshusen of Yuma, Colorado. Daughter Tammy Lassen of Columbus, Nebraska and son Dale Lassen of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Grandchildren: TJ (Carrie) Briscoe and great granddaughter Hayden. Nick (Alissia) Briscoe and great granddaughter Olivia. Miki (Don) Cestnik and granddaughters Quinn and Rylee. Sister Jackie Brady.
