Billy Lane Geske, 69, a longtime resident of Otis passed away in his home Tuesday evening, September 7th, 2021, with family by his side after another bout with cancer. Billy was born on March 10th, 1952, in Elgin, Illinois to Robert “Bob” and Norma (Oppermann) Geske, the younger of two children. The family moved around the country throughout his younger years and eventually settled in Washington County in 1969 where Billy would attend and graduate from Otis High School in 1970. In February of 1974 Billy married the love of his life Aleta Rose Nichols and from this union were born three children: Damien, Derek, and Kristie.
Billy was well known by his friends and family for his quick wit and playful sense of humor. Billy had many hobbies throughout the years and was truly a “Jack of all trades”, but Billy’s greatest joy were his grandchildren; Daveny Rose Geske and Allan Lane Geske.
Billy had several jobs throughout his adult life; however, much of his professional life was spent behind the wheel of a semi-truck, and he was well known in that community by his handle “Garfield”. In 2003, Billy purchased his own Semi and spent the last 16 years working with Doty Farms Trucking out of Fort Morgan, CO.
Billy is survived by his sister Bobbi Jo and Chuck Darchuck; son Damien and Staci and granddaughter Daveny; son Derek and Christine; daughter Kristie and Mike and grandson Allan; and several nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; Robert Geske and Norma Todd; and his wife Aleta Rose Geske.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
