Carin Gallagher 1967-2025

On February 17, 1967, Carin Marie Gallagher was born in Denver, Colorado at the Rocky Mountain Osteopathic Hospital. Carin was the first daughter of Carlene Marie [Hunter] Glammeyer.

Carin grew up in the Denver area during her childhood, and in 1981 she achieved her Confirmation of Holy Eucharist at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Carin later moved to Cope, Colorado so she could be closer to her parents. She would visit Yuma, Colorado where she met her future husband Steven Gallagher.

On August 24, 1996, Steven and Carin were married under a church steeple located at Lake Yuma in Yuma, Colorado. To this union they raised three sons Mikel Franklin Gallagher, Jacob Paul Gallagher, David Everett Gallagher, and two daughters Patricia Marie [Gallagher] Ruhaak, and Felicia Ann Gallagher.

Carin attended Denver North High School in Denver, Colorado. She later obtained her G.E.D. in 1987. In 1994, Carin obtained her Associate of Applied Science Degree / Early Childhood Associates Teacher certification from Northeastern Junior College. She became Preschool Director qualified after accumulating enough credits for a bachelor’s degree.

In 1994, Carin started working at the Children’s Workshop Preschool in Yuma, Colorado as a preschool teacher. After the Children’s Workshop was sold, Carin resumed her role as the mother of five children. During this time, she also accepted the responsibility of caring for her grandmother who suffered from dementia.

Steven was the Colorado Operational Manager for American Courier Corporation during this time. Carin would often assist him with hiring new drivers during times of major business growth. She would also drive a route part time as needed.

In 2007, Carin accepted a Parenting Educator position with Baby Bear Hugs, and later assumed the role of Yuma County Coordinator for the organization. Carin was considered an expert witness by the courts in the area of Child Development. After serving Baby Bear Hugs for several years, she accepted the Director position of the Cubs Den Preschool in Idalia, Colorado.

With Carin’s love for animals, her and Steven rescued several dogs through the years and three horses. Carin enjoyed riding and taking care of the horses. She found joy in reading novels, teaching, attending theater shows, concerts, listening to music, spending time with her family, and traveling.

Over the course of the last 20 years, Carin battled several health challenges. Carin and Steve were there for each other through the good times and the bad, the rich and the poor, the hard and the easy, the good health and the bad health. On the morning of February 5, 2025, Carin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Carin was preceded in death by her grandmother Ethel [Flachman] Hunter-Adams; grandfather Jacob Carl Hunter Jr.; mother Carlene [Hunter] Glammeyer; and brother James Paul Glammeyer Jr.

Carin is survived by her husband Steven Gallagher; sons Mikel Gallagher, Jacob Gallagher, David Gallagher; daughters Patricia [Gallagher] Ruhaak, Felicia Gallagher; grandsons Christian Gallagher, Orion Ruhaak, Silas Gallagher, Alex Gallagher-Dabney; and granddaughters Fallyn Gallagher, Stevie Jo Gallagher, and Leah Ruhaak.

Carin is also survived by her father James Glammeyer; sister Laura Hilliard; brothers Carl Glammeyer, Fred Glammeyer, Anthony Glammeyer; sister Amanda Glammeyer; her stepson Nicholis Packer, and several nieces and nephews.

In loving memory of Carin Marie Gallagher: Rosary was said for her at the St. John’s Catholic Church, in Yuma Colorado on February 14, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services was held at the St. John’s Catholic Church, in Yuma, Colorado on February 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Yuma Cemetery, in Yuma, Colorado.
