Carl Eugene Goeglein was born on June 19, 1930 to Carl Wilhelm and Gladys Irene (Seide) Goeglein in Yuma, Colorado. He passed away on March 3, 2023, at the age of 92, at his home in Yuma, Colorado.
Carl served his country in the United State Army during the time of the Korean War.
Carl married Melva Lee Marie (Pletcher) Goeglein on October 15, 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Otis, Colorado. Carl and Melva spent thirty-nine years before Melva’s passing on March 4, 2014.
Carl was a life-long farmer. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring classic cars. He served on the Yuma County Sheriff’s Posse during the 1970 and 1980’s, he was the president of the Yuma Protection Fire District, appointed as chairman for 17 years.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. and Gladys Goeglein; brother, Kenny Goegleiin and sister, Betty Mills; brother-in-law, James E. Huyghebaert; nephew, Robert Haynes; wife, Melva Lee Marie (Pletcher) Goeglein.
Carl is survived by his sisters, Mildred Arlene Miller, Linda Janet Elaine Huyghebaert; children, Debra Diane Goeglein and Steven T. Goeglein; grandchildren, Carl and Shannon Green; Kaelea and Nick Hanner; Jeremy and April Orme; Jessica and Tony Parker along with many other relatives and friends.
The service will be held at a later date.
