Connie Mae (Scott) White was born on July 17, 1938 in Yuma, CO. She passed away on May 23, 2022 at the Washington County Nursing Home.
Connie received elementary education at the White School and transitioned to Lone Star High School.
Connie enjoyed showing her dairy cows at the county fair, which is where she met the love of her life, Ray White. It was an eventful meeting, as Connie was taking her cow into the show ring, the cow managed to slobber on Connie’s sleeve. Ray stopped to help her wipe it off. The couple began dating, going to Lone Star ball games via bus — always respectful of the curfew requested by Connie’s parents. Ray and Connie were married on August 15, 1954 at her parent’s home, a union that lasted 64 years.
To this union four children were born: Michael, Charlene, Colleen (Watson), and Tammy (Ison). Connie was a stay at home mom, wrangling the four children; actively participating in the local homemaker’s extension club; and participating in life on the farm — milking cows, and coordinating meals for the various help that came to harvest crops and work the cattle. Connie also enjoyed gardening, reading and keeping company with her dogs.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray White; parents, Charles and Cleo Scott; in- laws, Carson and Alice White; sister, Betty Brandon; and brothers-in-law, Lester White, John Harms, and Wayne Brandon.
She is survived by her children; grandchildren: Kristen Thompson, Ashley Martin, Rachel Ison and Erik Ison; several great-grandchildren; and sister in law, Lila Harms.
The family would like to thank the staff of the nursing facility for their care of Connie over the last 7 years.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
