Dennis Albert Stahn 1945-2024

Dennis Albert Stahn was born February 16th, 1945, in Denver Co and passed away peacefully in his Akron home on Monday October 7th, 2024, at the age of 79.

Dennis was one of four children born to Albert and Matilda Stahn. He attended high schools in Denver and graduated from Gilpin County High School in 1964.

After high school he moved to Florida where he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1965. After 4 years of service, Dennis was honorably discharged as a decorated Corporal earning a Bronze Star-V fighting for his country in the Vietnam War. Dennis relocated back to Colorado in 1969 and found the love of his life Elsie Marie (Mason). The couple were married in Rocky Ford on 7/24/1970.

Dennis was a hardworking man who wore many hats from farm hand, ranch hand, gas store owner, truck driver, and Woodlin School janitor. Two of the proudest hats he wore were father and grandfather. Dennis and Elsie were blessed with 5 children. He often took his kids to work teaching them the ethics of hard work, determination, and often showing them the best ways to find a little mischief. Being a grandfather to Ashley, Tucker, Mason, AnnMarie, Maddison, and Makyla suited Dennis. His love for his grandchildren was obvious to everyone around him by his actions and attention to their lives. Opening his heart and his home for whatever they needed and enjoying the time he was able to spend with them.

In recent years, he could be found making “just stopped by to say hi” day trips to see his children and grandchildren, attending the grandkids sporting or school events, tinkering in his shop, putting puzzles together with Elsie or taking walks around his property. With a strong faith he believed in coming to the Lord as you are, wherever you are, encouraging his children to build a relationship with the Lord. He was a proud man with a strong conviction for the things he believed in and a great love for his family who will greatly miss him.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Stahn; children: Marcy (Gabriel) Escobedo; Chris Stahn; Jason (Kirsten) Stahn; Andrew (Shealyn) Stahn; grandchildren: Ashley Wood; Tucker Stahn; Mason Stahn; AnnMarie Stahn; Maddison Stahn; Makyla Stahn; daughter-in-law, Penny Hebein; brother, Jerry (Marilyn) Stahn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
