Registered electors should have received their November 5 General Elections ballots by now. If not, contact the Yuma County Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 970-332-5809, or drop by the office at the courthouse in Wray.
If wanting to mail back the ballot, please use two first-class stamps and get it in the mail prior to this Saturday, October 26, to ensure timely delivery. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on election day in order to be counted. Postmarks do not count.
There is a 24/7 drop-off box in Yuma outside the NJC Satellite Campus, or in Wray at the Election Center, 130 E. Third St.
One also can drop-off their ballot at the Yuma County Motor Vehicle branch office in side the NJC building on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., or in Wray at the Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
One still can submit a voter registration application. In fact, one can register to vote up until 7 p.m. election day by doing so in-person at the Clerk & Recorder’s Office, the Election Center in Wray, or at the NJC Satellite Campus in Yuma. One also can obtain a replacement ballot up through election day.
Also, the Election Center in Wray will be open on Saturday, November 2, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for ballot drop off and replacement ballots.
One does not have to vote the entire ballot. Mark the selections you want and leave the rest blank if so desired. Make sure to completely fill in the oval nest to your selections with a blue or black pen that will not bleed through. Remember to sign the signature affidavit located on the back of the envelope or it will not be counted. Election officials must compare every signature to make sure the intended voter was the one who signed the envelope.
