It is Holy Week, so it is time for a rundown of Easter weekend services in the area, including sunrise services.
Pleasant Valley Church will have its sunrise service again on Old Baldy, the highest point in Yuma County and throughout the area. Anyone wanting to attend is asked to meet at Yuma County roads U and 54 at 6:15 a.m. to carpool to the top in four-wheel vehicles. Breakfast will be served at the church following the sunrise service. Pleasant Valley’s Easter Sunday worship will begin at 9 a.m., followed by an Easter Egg Hunt.
The Yuma Ministerial Association will host an Easter Sunrise Services at 6:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene. Coffee and donuts will be provided in the Family Life Center.
Following are more Easter Week services by local congregations.
• St. John the Evangelical Church will have a Holy Thursday service at 5:30 p.m., a Good Friday service at 5:30 p.m., and a bilingual Easter Mass on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
• First Presbyterian Church will have a Maundy Thursday service with open communion in Memorial Hall at 7 p.m., a Good Friday service at 7 p.m., and then an Easter worship service Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with a special ministry of music provided by Trumpet Trio and Sacred Dance.
• First Southern Baptist Church will have a Good Friday service at 6 p.m., and an Easter Service at 10:45 a.m.
• Yuma Christian Church is having a joint service on Good Friday with CNE, 6:30 p.m. at Quintech. YCC’s Easter Sunday service will be at 10 a.m.
• The Yuma Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m., and its Easter Sunday service will be at 10:30 a.m.
• New Life Christian Center near Eckley will have breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. Easter service.
• St. John’s Lutheran Church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m., a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m., and on Easter Sunday will have a breakfast and pie sale starting at 7:30 a.m., and a worship service at 9 a.m., followed by an Easter Egg Hunt.
• First Church of the Nazarene will have its regular Easter Sunday church service at 10:30 a.m., after hosting the sunrise service.
• St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Otis will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m., and an Easter service at 7 a.m. followed by breakfast.
• The Wray Ministerial Association is hosting a community Easter servie at 10:30 a.m. in Kitzmiller Auditorium at Wray High School.
