Girl wrestlers found wins at home Tuesday

The Yuma High School girls wrestler enjoyed a nice run while hosting several teams Tuesday night in the Aux Pit.

Brush brought only three wrestlers, resulting in a 42-12 Yuma win. Destiny Henderson won on the mat with a pin in 1 minute, 22 seconds at 127 pounds. Getting forfeit wins were Tera Leifheit at 100, Ashley Marshall at 105, Fatima Duran at 1111, Eva Ruiz at 161, Mia Dischner at 185, and Yair Garcia at 215.

Against Calhan and Stratton, Duran had an 18-second pin, while Leifheit, Maci Daugherty, Abril Montes de Oca, and Eva Ruiz won by forfeit. Against Lamar/La Junta, Leifheit won by fall in 3:19 at 100, and Daugherty won by pin in 1:43 at 118. Winning for forfeit were Duran, Montes de Oca, Ruiz, Dischner and Garcia. Marshall also won by pin in 41 seconds against a Lamar wrestler.
