The Yuma High School girls golf team is off to an encouraging start to the 2025 spring season.
The Outlaws opened their season last Thursday at the Holyoke Lady Dragon Invitational. They finished third in the nine-team field with a team score of 335. Holyoke was first with a 312, and Wray second with a 324.
Kena Serl was the top medalist. The sophomore shot a personal-best 98, winning a scorecard playoff with Addison Jones of Wray. Rounding out the Yuma varsity were Aspen Chadwick with a 114, Danika Dischner with a 123 and Madilyn Rahm a 129. Avery Langley finished third in the JV division.
The golfers were back in action Tuesday at the Fort Morgan Invitational. Coach Luke Goeglein took only three golfers, Chadwick, Rahm and Kinsley Mendoza as some others were at State FCCLA. Final results were not available at press time.
