Season D comes down to today for the Yuma High School girls golf team.
Coach Jenny Noble is taking the foursome of Jada Young, Ema Richardson and Jailyn Mekelburg to the Class 3A Region 3 Tournament in Estes Park. Kimberly Guerrero also was in line to compete but cannot attend due to a family event.
The field includes golfers from Holyoke, Wray, Peak to Peak, Estes Park, Resurrection Christian, Brush, Strasburg, Berthoud, Severance and Kent Denver.
Coach Jenny Noble said Young is ranked 18th in the regional field, adding that Richardson and Mekelburg are capable of shooting a qualifying score if they put everything together.
A total of two full teams and 13 individuals not on one of the qualifying teams will advance to the 3A State Tournament, which will be held June 21-22 at Elmwood Golf Course in Pueblo.
Yuma closed out the regular season this past Monday at the Brush Invitational. The Indians finished third in the team standings with a 343, behind Holyoke with a 332 and Resurrection Christian with a 343.
Young led the way, finishing as second medalist with a 107. Guerrero was ninth with a 115, and Mekelburg 15th with a 121. Richardson shot a 124.
