Grace Ellen Keller, age 77, of Eckert, CO passed away on August 23, 2022, in the Delta Health Memorial Hospital shortly after falling ill to the West Nile Virus. She transitioned peacefully, surrounded by her family. Grace was born November 25, 1944, in Brush, CO to Alvin (Raymond) and Emily (Todd) Martin. In her early years, she grew up in Northeastern Colorado. She attended Campion Academy in Loveland during her high school career and went on to graduate from Yuma High School. Grace was united in marriage to Park R. Keller on June 9, 1963. They made their home in Leadville and then in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she attended Union College. Later they relocated to Denver and eventually settled in Brush in 1978, where they raised their three beautiful daughters, Julianna, Janelle, and Teresa. Grace and Park owned Park Keller Family Pharmacy in Brush, serving their community for many years. As it was her life-long dream, in 2021, Grace moved back to the mountains.
Grace gave her life to Christ and the Seventh Day Adventist Church as a young adult. She taught Bible School, Pathfinders, and lead many in Bible studies. Her faith paved the road for the way she would live her life. She was proud of her family and was not shy about telling everyone, any chance she got. She loved spending time with all her family, holding them very dear to her heart. Grace, as a young girl, was blessed with the magnificent gift of playing the piano by ear (not reading music). People all over Sterling, Akron, Brush, and Cedaredge had the privilege of hearing her as she played the piano for her Churches and several Long-Term Care facilities as a volunteer. Other hobbies included Ancestry/Genealogy, puzzles, Solitaire and watching the birds and wildlife from her back porch. Grace was also a huge fan of the Brush High School Beetdiggers, Colorado Rockies, and Denver Broncos sports teams.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Emily Martin, her husband Park R. Keller, and her Brother-In-Law’s Bob Mildenberger and Tommy Williams.
She is survived by her sister, Jane Mildenberger of Sterling, CO; Sister-in-Laws, Sandra Williams of Starr SC, and Dianne (Ric) Pocuis of Breckenridge, CO; Daughters, Julianna Moore of Eckert, CO, Janelle (Jeff) Underwood of Montclair, VA, and Teresa (Paul) Acosta of Brush, CO; five Grandchildren, five Step-Grandchildren, six Great-Grandchildren and three Step-Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Akron, CO on September 30, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Bowin Funeral Home in Akron, CO will oversee the arrangements.
