The Halloween weekend has arrived, and there are plenty of activities for the young ones in Yuma.
There will be “Trick or Treat Street” again in downtown Yuma, as well as “off Main” businesses, and “Trunk or Treat” at Lake Yuma, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Participating businesses will be handing out candy during that time, and there also is supposed to be games and contests. S. Main St. from First to Fourth avenues, will be closed to traffic during that time.
Third Avenue also will be closed from S. Main to S. Buffalo, allowing for a safe corridor for the trick-or-treaters and family members to go from downtown to Lake Yuma. S. Buffalo also will be closed along the west side of Lake Yuma.
Some businesses will be located there to pass out candy. The City of Yuma is sponsoring a costume contest at the Lake Yuma pavilion. Arrive at 4:15, and judging begins at 4:30. There will be three different age divisions, 0-5 years old, 6-12 and 13-17. No need to pre-register.
Businesses off of Main St. also will be participating at their locations. Find a list and map of participating businesses by clicking the link at yumacochamber.com.
