Henry Joseph Strick, passed away on June 13, 2024, at his home in Joes, CO from cancer at the age of 89. He was born on June 23, 1934, at home in Kirk, CO to Joseph and Alice Strick, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters Karen Manicke, and Christina and husband Norman “Frank” Asling, Stepchildren are Robert Sullivan and Cynthia Matticks. He is survived by his sisters, Theresa Adamson, Jean Gilchrist and Jane Bouland, and brothers Roy and Sandy Strick, Walter Strick, and Daniel and Debi Strick also Brother in-law R. A. Stevens and Sister in-law Dorthy Strick. He is survived by his Grandchildren: Shawna Setla, Shallon Bostic and fiancé Rafael Sandoval and Joan Shawn and Naomi Fagan and Jason Cotton, Dustin Asling, Travis and wife Annika Asling, Amanda Asling and fiancé Zachary Stewart; Step-grandchildren: Scott and Lisa Sullivan, Troy McGinnis, Boni and Bill Bright, Heather and Brian Perales, Deloris Forbes, Carolyn and Clint Brant, Natasha Sullivan, Robert Paul Sullivan Great Grandchildren: Michelle and husband Nick Eldred, Courtney Setla and fiancé Garrett Smith, Tommy Setla and fiancé Kaylana Gustin, Tyler Little, Gaven Little and Carmalita Bostic, Jason Cotton, and Naomi Fagan, Matthew Asling, Amelia Asling, Isla Asling, Lailah Stewart, Bentley Stewart; Step-Great-Grandchildren: Taylor and Scorpio Mason, Cassidy Langrell, Brandon Perales, Madison Perales, Chyanne and Travis Authier, Seth Sullivan, Tyler Sullivan, Samantha Sullivan Great Great Grandsons Prometheus Smith, Emryss Setla, and Finnley Little; Step Great-Great Grandchildren Katana and Osiris Mason, Asher and Arlo Authier as well as two foster boys David and Charles countless others including nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by Luana VanHorn Strick Vessel, Iva Packer Sullivan Strick and Florance Sterling Strick; by his daughters Tammy Douglas and Sharon Willers Stepchildren William Sullivan, Vergenia Taylor and Russel Voice; his sisters, Agnes Clark, Eileen Russell, Adeline Stevens and brother Paul Strick. He attended St. Charles Catholic Church.
Henry went to Clark School which was a one room schoolhouse and attended 1st – 8th grades.
He enjoyed farming on and off throughout his life as well as working with rental houses, worked as a Field Service Representative for Butler Manufacturing Company’s hiGROmatic Irrigation Division where he traveled extensively for about 10 years. He volunteered at the Joes Fire Dept. for most of his adult life. He enjoyed growing a garden and many years had bumper crops of potatoes or other vegetables.
Henry loved to spend time with family and participated in the Senior Meals at the Grassroots, enjoyed going to Auctions, Bingo or other community events. He was on A&E Shipping wars when he sold a large tower. He loved to build anything from his buildings, repair vehicles, small engines or creating fun creatures of ornamental iron.
Memorials can be made to the Joes Fire Department. Service was at St. Charles Catholic Church on June 21, 2024 at 11 am, Rosary at 10:30 am with lunch following burial at Calvary Cemetery at Stratton, CO.
