Homecoming Week events continue through Saturday in Yuma.
They have been taking place since Monday, when Powder Puff football was held, followed by Casino Night on Tuesday and Class Volleyball on Wednesday.
There will be a community bonfire tonight, October 17, at 7 in the sports complex parking lot.
The Outlaw Roundup, formerly known as WigWam, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday in the YHS Commons during the Yuma volleyball matches against Holyoke.
That will be preceded by a Homecoming Parade, the first time Yuma has held one in more than a decade. It will begin at 2 p.m. The parade will go down S. Main St., where community members can line up to participate in the school song. The parade then head west on Third Ave, go south on Elm St. past Morris Elementary and Yuma Middle schools, and stop by the YMS gym for a pep rally.
Everyone is encouraged to wear as much red and white as possible on Friday.
The crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen will be during halftime of the Yuma-Holyoke football game on Saturday. The game will kickoff at 1 p.m.
The Homecoming Queen candidates are Jade Lungwitz, Mayline Gaytan, Alina Moran and Wendy Garcia. The King candidates are Jonathan Thomson, Damien Kosinski, Silas Baucke and Christian Munoz.
The Homecoming Dance will be held Saturday night.
