James Arthur Hinkle 1942-2022

James Arthur Hinkle was born August 14, 1942, and went home to be with Jesus July 30, 2022, just 15 days shy of his 80th birthday.
He was the youngest son of Loren William Hinkle and Emily Josephine Ramsey. The second to youngest of 9 children.
He was born in Abilene, KS and was raised in Hope, KS.
Jim served in the Army Reserves and later graduated from Wichita State University with an Accounting degree. He married Sherry Rae Johnson from Abilene, KS on December 27, 1964.
Jim was predeceased by his older brother Tom Hinkle and both his parents. All other siblings are still living.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sherry Ray Hinkle (Johnson)
Children: Christi Ann Hinkle Mattingley married to Patrick Galen Mattingley, David Loren Hinkle, Susan Kay Godsey (Hinkle) married to Ryan Wade Godsey.
He is survived by 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; with the 2 great grandchild due at any moment.
Grandchildren: Kayla Hinkle married to Skyler Waters, Brandon Hinkle, Chayse Applegate married to Ethen Lehr, Chandlyr Applegate, Taylor Godsey, Megan Koenig married to Jaden Koenig, Karly Godsey, and Drew Godsey.
Great Grandchildren: Elias Waters.
Jim loved people and enjoyed talking with everyone. He has left an amazing legacy behind.
He also had a heart for the broken. Jim spent many years on the jail ministry team. Being used by God to offer a better way.
His passion was the Guideons, and all donations will be given to this wonderful organization. All levels of sports were also his passion and Wray sporting events will miss one of their greatest fans.
He had an amazing positive outlook on life with a word of encouragement and an amazing smile to go with it.
Receiving of Family and Friends was held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the New Life Christian Center in Eckley, Colorado with Pastor Glen Kline officiating. Interment was held in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.
Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International.
Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
