Lewis Clement Frenzl passed away January 14, 2023 at the Yuma District Hospital surrounded by family at the age of 86. Lewis was born July 16,1936 in Akron, Colorado to Frank and Laura (Ehrhart) Frenzl. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Akron, CO.
Lewis lived on the family farm south of Otis where he attended a small one room schoolhouse, where he completed the 8th grade. He was one of three students that attended this school while he was there.
Upon turning 23 Lewis joined the army in 1963, where he served his two years in Germany. He was then honorably discharged on January 31st, 1965. He then returned home where he enjoyed farming and ranching with his brother John.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Laura Frenzl, his sister Frances Frenzl, brother Joe Frenzl and sister-in-law Carrie Frenzl, brother John Frenzl, and brother-in-law Bill Eskew.
Lewis is survived by his brother Frank Frenzl and wife Pauline, and his sister Helen Eskew. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. A Rosary service will be held Friday January 20, 2023 at 9:15 am, with A Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Akron. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
