The Yuma Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Dinner and Business Excellence Awards is rapidly approaching, and the award winners have been announced.

Lu•Ella will be honored as Business of the Year, Amanda Miller of Wags and Whiskers as Business Person of the Year, and Marlene Miller of the Area Agency on the Aging as Citizen of the Year.

The banquet will be Friday, March 22, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at The Orphanage in downtown Yuma. The deadline to RSVP is March 18, by emailing, or calling 848-2704. Tickets are $50 each, or $350 for a table.

The event is being presented by First FarmBank, along with supporting sponsors The Harmony Home, PFS Insurance, Farm House Market, CarQuest of Yuma, and Bank of Colorado.

Entree options for the meal that day are brisket, chicken or tilapia, with sides of potatoes au gratin, chicken salad, tossed salad and fresh dinner rolls, along with dessert options of brownie or peach cobbler. Pot Belly’s of Yuma is catering the event. Tumbleweed Brewing and Wine Company will provide the beer.

Globally recognized keynote speaker Alan Arnette will address the crowd. His influential speaking brings a new approach to motivation. “His casual yet powerful style brings audiences into his world of high-altitude mountaineering with incredible pictures, videos, and stories while connecting with them on a real-world basis.”
