Free drive-thru testing has been available for Yuma County residents, and others who have been patients at the Yuma or Wray hospitals.
The drive-thru tests are available in the Wray Community District Hospital parking lot, Monday through Friday, from 8 to 9 a.m. A physician’s order is not required, but one must be showing viral infections, such as a fever, shortness of breath, a new cough, or have been exposed to a person who has been confirmed to have COVID-19.
The county was supplied a total of 50 tests last week, and Jennifer Kramer with the Wray hospital said another 100 tests arrived this week.
She said Tuesday afternoon that a total of 20-25 tests have been done at the drive-thru since the start of last week. She said as of now, it is taking about three days to get the results.
Therefore, there are plenty of tests available at the drive-thru location at the moment.
Michelle Pemberton with the NCHD said the six-county region has received an additional 600 test kits from the state over the past week, with a focus on free additional testing. She said it might be another week or so before results are seen across northeast Colorado from the increased testing.
