Kelly Jo Kiess, 24, of Lone Tree, passed away October 18, 2019.

Kelly Jo was born in Denver Colorado on January 6, 1995. Kelly Jo graduated from Lone Star High School in 2013 and the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs in 2018. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology.

Kelly worked at Comcentric Technology Staffing as a senior technical recruiter. She enjoyed her work and was very passionate about it. She was a team leader who encouraged everyone to do their best.

Kelly Jo was a member of the Lone Star FFA chapter during high school. While in FFA she held the office of Secretary for 2 years. In 2002 she was introduced to 4-H and became a member of the Washington County Sunnyside 4-H Club. In her 9 years as a 4-H member she excelled in cake decorating. She also showed poultry and did quilting. During her 9 years in 4-H she earned 9 Champion Ribbons at the Eastern Colorado Roundup in Akron, Colorado and Reserve Grand Champion at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo, Colorado. She held the office of 4-H Club President or Club Treasurer for many years. Kelly Jo was always willing to help anyone with any of their projects or record books even if they were her competitor. Kelly Jo loved the water and would go jet skiing every opportunity she had no matter how cold the water was.

Kelly Jo is survived by her parents Michael Kiess, Shera Dawn Kiess and Jeffrey A. Gailus; sisters Emmalee Gailus, Katelyn Kiess, and Coralyn Kiess; brother Joshua Kiess; and Grandparents Larry McNeese, Karen McNeese, Darlene Klaholz and Larry Klaholz.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held November 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Lone Star School, 44940 County Road 54, Otis, CO 80743.
