The Otis High School volleyball team is back in the big show.
The Bulldogs once again have advanced to the Class 1A State Tournament, today through Saturday in the Denver Coliseum. />
They went 2-1 in their first three matches, advancing to Friday night’s Contenders Bracket semifinal vs. Dove Creek.
Otis beat Kit Carson 3-1 in first match yesterday, lost to Simla 3-0 later in the day, then beat Idalia 3-1 this morning. The Bulldogs are two wins away from reaching semifinals.
They are the fifth seed in the 12-team, double-elimination tournament. The Bulldogs, 17-6, play 12th-seed Kit Carson at approximately 9:30 a.m. today, November 9. The winner advances to a second-round match with fourth-seed Simla later in the day at approximately 3:30 p.m., while the loser will wait until Friday at 12:30 p.m. for an elimination match in the “Contenders” bracket.
Tourney play will continue all day Thursday and Friday until there are six teams left for Saturday’s action. Saturday will begin with the finals in the Contenders bracket in the morning, followed by the semifinals at 12 noon and 2 p.m., and the championship at 6 p.m.
