Rhonda Lou (Brophy) Kinnison was born August 29, 1954 in Wray Colorado to Veda Laverne (Kelley) and Joseph Paul Brophy. She was the first of 6 children.
The family lived North of Eckley Colorado until she graduated in 1972 from Yuma High School . She went to Eckley elementary and Junior High where she was the last 8th grade class to graduate from Eckley.
She then proceeded to Yuma high school where she had a very active social life. She joined many clubs and was a great cheerleader.
After High School she moved to Greeley, Colorado. She worked at many jobs around Greeley. This is where she met the love of her life Rick Kinnison. They married September 23, 1976 in Yuma, Colorado. To this union were born 3 children, Richard Gene Kinnison, Becky Ann Kinnison, and David Lee Kinnison. They moved to Silverthorne, Colorado shortly after Gene was born where Rick worked for the state of Colorado and Rhonda worked for a restaurant in the area.
The next adventures in life were spent on a farm North of Eckley where they joined Rhonda’s brothers in a farming operation. They spent several good years farming and raising the children. She enjoyed the farm life cooking and gardening which was a lifelong endeavor.
Then tragedy struck with the loss of the eldest son in a fatal car accident. The family soon moved to the town of Erie where they spent several years enjoying city life. She lived a rather quiet life just working and gardening. She lost her husband Rick Kinnison in 2008 to cancer. She spent the rest of her life gardening and visiting her children and her sisters and her cousins. She died of a massive stroke in her home doing what she enjoyed doing cooking.
Rhonda was a really good wife, mother and big sister. She always greeted you with a happy hello and a hug. She was hardly ever sad or grouchy. She always enjoyed herself wherever she went. She and 9 of her cousins enjoyed a trip to Ireland together where she met Irish cousins and enjoyed many laughs and stories. She also traveled to California to visit cousins. She had a good time at a 4th of July party and a wedding in California. She also frequently visited her daughter in Florida and enjoyed the Florida sun in the winter time.
