Roger Kent “Bud” Dresen 1955-2025

Roger Kent “Bud” Dresen, 69, of Yuma, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at Denver Hospice House, surrounded by love.

Born on March 18, 1955, in Yuma, Bud lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. He married the love of his life, Christine (Kirkendall) Dresen, on December 14, 1976, and together they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories.

Bud worked for the City of Yuma for 42 years before retiring in 2021. Prior to that, he spent time installing sprinklers for Alvin Morris. Hardworking and dedicated, he took pride in everything he did.

Beyond his career, Bud had many passions that brought him joy. He loved prairie dog hunting, fishing, and collecting knives. He had a deep appreciation for black powder shooting and could always be found at family outings, camping trips, and vacations, making memories with those he loved most. Bud had a special way of leading the dance floor, often two-stepping with Chris while helping his good friend Kenny Bowersox DJ.

One of his favorite places to be was on his porch, sitting with his beloved dogs, Bella and Taz. Bella has now joined him in heaven, no doubt curled up by his side once again.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, William “Wid” and Laura Dresen; his sisters, Sandy Archuleta and Cindy McCoy; his brother-in-law, Dennis Delka; and his cherished grandchild, Braxton Malavey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Dresen; his daughter, Amanda DeSelms, and son-in-law, Shannon DeSelms, along with their children, Taylor, Quentin, and Brooklyn DeSelms; his son, Andrew Dresen, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Page, with their children, Madison Sterriker, Delainey Dresen, Dalton Page, and Kendall Page; and his daughter, Kasey Franz, and son-in-law, Jeremy Franz, with their children, Parker and Piper Franz. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Bud’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and an undeniable passion for life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories, traditions, and hearts of those he touched.

A memorial service to celebrate Bud’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Yuma, 1101 South Albany, Yuma, CO 80759, on February 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
