Lone Star

The Lone Star track and field athletes had a great run at the Yuma Bill Kalb Invitational, Monday.

Team scores were not available, but the Longhorns had several placing efforts.

Alivia Weathers won the triple jump with a distance of 33-11.75. She tied for second with teammate Andrea Kuntz in the pole vault as both cleared 8-5, and Lamya Kuntz was fifth at 8-5, and Michaela Kuntz sixth at 7-11. L. Kuntz was third in the 800 with a time of 2:43.21. Weathers was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.83 seconds. The girls 800 sprint medley team took sixth in 2:04.96. A. Kuntz was fourth in the long jump at 14-1.5, Idhaly Martinez sixth at 13-8.25, and M. Kuntz eighth at 13-6.5.

For the boys, Brady Kuntz cleared 11-5 for fourth in the pole vault. Blake Sprauge was seventh int eh 800 with a time of 2:34.78. The 4-by-100 relay team was seventh with a time of 48.57 seconds.

The Longhorns made a strong showing at the Holyoke Dragon Invitational, last Saturday. The girls scored 56.5 points for fifth in the nine-school field, and the boys were seventh in their 10-school field with 34.

For the girls, Alivia Weathers won the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.79 seconds. She won the triple jump with a distance of 34-0.75, and Lamya Kuntz was fourth at 30-9.75. Weathers cleared 8-9 for third in pole vault, L. Kuntz and A. Kuntz tied for fifth at 7-9, and M. Kuntz seventh at 7-9. Idhaly Martinez was fourth in the long jump with a distance 14-0. The girls’ 800 sprint medley team took third in 2:05.56, and the 4-by-100 team was eighth in 58.93 seconds.

Brady Kuntz cleared 11-9 to pace the boys by placing second in the pole vault. Charles Balderas-Hobbs went 17-7 in the long jump for fifth, while Dakoda Cox was sixth at 16-10.25, and Zaiah McMeeking eighth at 16-6.25.

Ethan Glenn was fourth in the 3200 with a time of 14:14.69, Blake Sprague fifth in the 800 in 2:31.39, and Edgar Barragan seventh in the 1600 in 6:23.97.

The 4-by-100 relay team was sixth in 49.46 seconds, the the 4-by-200 team was seventh in 1:47.91.

Otis

Keylan Dracon paced the Otis High School contingent at the Yuma Bill Kalb Invitational, Monday.

Dracon won the discus with a toss of 144-1, and won the shot put with a heave of 45-0.5. Landston Schaffert added a fifth place in the pole vault by clearing 10-11.

For the girls, Becca Bleak went 4-6 for second in the high jump. Anthoneya Schaffert was fourth in the pole vault at 8-5. Brooklyn Elliot took fifth in the discus at 92-0, and Ruby Halcomb was sixth at 89-0.

The Bulldogs competed last Saturday in the Holyoke Dragon Invitational. The girls and boys teams both scored 24 points.

The girls had three placers in the high jump as Becca Bleak was fourth at 4-0, Makenna Metzler fifth at 4-0, and Ruby Halcomb sixth at 4-0. Brooklyn Elliot was fifth in the discus at 93-3, and Halcomb seventh at 92-7. Anthoneya Schaffert cleared 7-9 for seventh in the pole vault.

The 800 sprint medley team was sixth with a time of 2:26.1, and the 4-by-100 team was seventh in 58.82 seconds.

For the boys, Keylan Dracon won the discus with a toss of 133-9, and put the shot 41-9 for second. Landston Schaffert added to the point total by clearing 11-3 to place third in the pole vault.

Stratton/Liberty

Stratton/Liberty track and field athletes were led by Elton Yarger and Trevor Frank at the Yuma Bill Kalb Invitational, Monday.

Yarger won three events ­ the 400 dash with a time of 54.08 seconds, the long jump with a distance of 20-5.25, and the triple jump at 42-9.

Frank won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.5 seconds. He also was second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.41 seconds. The boys 4-by-400 relay team was sixth with a time of 3:58.09.

For the girls, Andrea Hornung was sixth in the shot put with a heave of 30-2.5. The rest of the girls points came in the relays. The 4-by-100 was eighth in 57.64 seconds, the 4-by-200 fifth in 1:57.49, the 4-by-400 sixth in 4:42.9, and the 4-by-800 fourth with a time of 11:52.81.

The Knighted Eagles also had back-to-back meets late last week.

They were in the Cheyenne Wells Invitational last Friday. The boys were third with 57 points, and the girls ninth with 34.

RayAnne Griffin was fifth in the 400 dash with a time of 1:06.85, and Sydnee Roth eighth in 1:10.33. Crystal Bouchier was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 54.88 seconds, and eighth in the 100 hurdles in 19.63 seconds.

The 4-by-100 relay was sixth in 1:03.61. The 4-by-200 was fifth in 2:05.55, the 800 sprint medley team fourth in 2:03.35, and the 4-by-400 foursome was third in 4:42.86.

Roth triple jumped 30-2 for fourth place, and Andrea Hornung was sixth in the shot put with a heave of 30-1.

Stratton/Liberty’s boys enjoyed several first-place efforts. Elton Yarger won the 400 with a time of 54.64 seconds, the long jump with a distance of 20-98, and the triple jump at 42-9. Trevor Frank won the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.85 seconds. Yarger also was second in the 200 with a time of 24.37 seconds. Ignacio Baixas was sixth in the 200 in 26.06 seconds, and fifth in the 400 in 58.07 seconds. Frank was seventh in the 200 in 26.15 seconds.

The Knighted Eagles were at the Warren Mitchell Invitational in Limon on Saturday. The boys scored 41 points, and the girls 14. There were 25 schools at the meet.

For the boys, Frank was second in the 110 hurdles in 17.17 seconds, and third in the 300 hurdles in 46.08 seconds.

Yarger won the long jump with a leap of 20-8, and was second in the triple at 41-7. Levi Shean took fourth in the long jump with a distance of 19-8.5, and fifth in the triple at 39-1.

For the girls, Bouchier was fifth in the 100 hurdles in 18.73 seconds, and seventh in the 300 hurdles in 55.52 seconds. The 4-by-400 relay was sixth in 4:44.63, and the 4-by-100 relay was eighth in 56.85 seconds. Roth triple jumped 31-11 for fourth place.

Arickaree/Woodlin

Arickaree/Woodlin scored two points last Saturday at the Warren Mitchell Invitational in Limon. Tyson Schneider was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 19-1.
