The Yuma Baseball Organization’s Jeff Armstrong Tournament is making its return this weekend after not being held in 2020.
All games will be played at the Jeff Armstrong Ballfield Complex, Saturday and Sunday. There is a 12U and 10U division.
Participation is not as high as in years past as there are just four teams in the 12U tournament, including Yuma’s squad.
Pool play will take place Saturday, and again Sunday morning. On Saturday, Yuma will play Brush at 9 a.m., followed by Sky Sox-Plainsmen at 11, Brush-Sky Sox at 1 p.m., and Plainsmen-Yuma at 3 p.m. On Sunday, Yuma will play the Sky Sox at 9 a.m., followed by Plainsmen playing Brush.
The teams then will be seeded for bracket play. The first and fourth seeds will play at 1 p.m., followed by the second and third seeds. The winners will play for the championship at 5 p.m.
There are three teams in the 10U division. On Saturday, Brush will play Merino at 11 a.m., followed by Yuma playing Brush at 1 p.m., then Yuma playing Merino at 3. On Sunday, Yuma will play Merino at 9 a.m., then play Brush at 11, followed by Merino playing Brush at 1 p.m.
