Yuma County Softball will be back at the Yuma field on Saturday when the Yuma-Wray co-op team takes on Holyoke for two games beginning at 10 a.m.
YCS is 5-12 overall, 0-2 in league play, after getting swept in Yuma by Burlington, last Saturday, 18-3 and 20-7.
In the opener, the teams were tied at 3 after two innings. YCS trailed just 5-3 when Burlington broke out with 13 runs in the top of the fourth.
Larissa Salmans had a triple and a double for YCS and scored one run. Jordan Glanz had a hit and one RBI, Erin Allen one hit and one run, Makynna DeLand one hit, and Alysha Yanez one run.
YCS again had it going well in the early going of the nightcap, jumping out to a 5-0 lead, and leading 7-6 after three innings. However, Burlington rallied for five runs in the fourth and nine more in the sixth two in going away.
Glanz had three hits and two RBI for YCS, Gemma Oestman three hits, Addi Jones two hits, one run and one RBI, Allen had a double and one run, Jazmine Sotelo a double and two runs, Salmans one hit and one run, DeLand one run, and Sharon Greek one hit and one run.
