Yuma High School’s girls golf team picked up another tournament team win, claiming the Kit Carson Invitational team championship last Friday. It was the team’s third tournament title of the week.
Jada Young led the way shooting a 103 to tie for third place. Ema Richardson shot a 110 to finish sixth. Jailyn Mekelburg shot a 114 to finish eighth, and Kim Guerrero shot a 120 for 10th place.
The Indians were at the Holyoke Invitational this past Tuesday, June 1. The streak of tournament titles came to an end as they finished fourth with a 354. The Washington County team, the Bullrams, won the team title with a 323.
Young was Yuma’s top placer, finishing ninth with a 115, while Mekelburg was 11th with a 117. Guerrero shot a 122, and Richardson a 128.
Their next tournament is Monday, June 7, in Brush.
