Yuma High School announced Friday that it would resume in-person learning on Monday, September 21.
However, the school then announced two more positive cases with phone calls to parents Saturday night, and that all of YHS would remain on remote learning through September 30.
The school went to remote learning Thursday and today, September 18, after learning Wednesday of one student testing positive for COVID-19. One classroom at Morris Elementary went to remote learning for 14 days starting Thursday.

This is an important message from Yuma High School. We have received confirmation of two additional cases that are positive between Yuma High School. Because of the possible exposure to staff and students Yuma High School then begins remote learning Monday September 21 through September 30 If you have questions please contact Yuma High School. We will be collaborating with the Northeast Colorado Health Department to communicate with the students who were exposed.

Thank you for your patience as we have worked through our next steps. Our goal continues to be to provide safe in person instruction for as many students as possible.
As of today, September 18, 2020, YSD- 1 has only 1 confirmed COVID-19 case. Administration has worked with the Northeast Colorado Health Department to determine students who have been exposed and will be required to be out of school for 14 days. Synchronized instruction will be utilized for those students.
Later today, the health department will utilize our school messenger system to notify those households with high school students who have met the definition of exposed. Those same students will also be sent an email in their student Gmail account with the same information.
Student athletes who have been cleared for participation have been notified. We have resumed those activities as we have been able to do so.
For the remainder of the high school students, in person instruction will resume on Monday September 21st.

A día de hoy, el 18 de septiembre de 2020 YSD- 1 sólo tiene 1 caso COVID-19 confirmado. La administración ha trabajado con el Departamento de Salud del Noreste de Colorado para determinar los estudiantes que han estado expuestos y se le pedirá que esté fuera de la escuela durante 14 días. La instrucción sincronizada se utilizará para esos estudiantes.
Más tarde hoy, el departamento de salud utilizará nuestro sistema de mensajería escolar para notificar aquellos hogares con estudiantes de secundaria que han cumplido con la definición de expuestos. Esos mismos estudiantes también recibirán un correo electrónico en su cuenta de gmail de estudiante con la misma información. Los estudiantes atletas que han sido autorizados para participar han sido notificados. Hemos reanudado esas actividades, ya que hemos podido hacerlo. Para el resto de los estudiantes de secundaria, la instrucción en persona se reanudará el lunes de septiembre 21
