Four finalists have been named in Yuma School District-1’s search for its next superintendent.
It came toward the end of the Yuma-1 Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting, Monday night at the District Office.
Board members John Deering, Lindsey Galles, Heath Roundtree and Tyson Brown were in attendance, while Terri Cooper participated via telephone.
The board met for about two hours in executive session discussing the seven applications submitted by the superintendent hopefuls. A representative from the search firm McPherson and Jacobson also participated.
After reconvening in open meeting, the board unanimously approved the following four as finalists: Kyle Bules, Scott Cooper, James Fraley and and Matthew Snyder.
The board will conduct interviews on March 24-25, and will make an offer to the winning applicant soon after those dates.
Bules currently is the K-6 principal in Wiggins. Cooper is the EPIC/CTE director and CC-LIVE director for Battlement Mesa. Fraley is the assistant superintendent of instruction in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Snyder is the superintendent of the Cheraw School District.
