Yuma City Council puts city manager on unpaid administrative leave

The Yuma City Council put City Manager Scott Moore on unpaid administrative leave, Thursday night during a special meeting.

The council met in executive session for more than one hour, with City Attorney Kathryn Sellars participating remotely.

When the council reconvened in open meeting, a motion was made to put Moore on unpaid administrative leave due to the council losing confidence in him. Councilman Dan Baucke told Moore he would like to meet him at 10 a.m. the next day in his office for a visit. Moore replied that he cannot be in his office if on unpaid administrative leave. Baucke amended the request, saying it could be anywhere Moore wanted. Moore said he would take it under consideration.

The council then approved the motion on a 6-0 vote. Mayor Tim McClung, Mayor Pro-tem Jerome Benish, Baucke, Zach Diaz, Vanessa Dischner and Marc Shay were in attendance. Terri Frame did not attend the meeting.

A sizeable crowd attended the meeting, most being city employees with a few citizens there also.
